MUSCAT -- As the curtains fell on the celebrations and festivities that surrounded Muscat Festival for the past 25 days, Welcare Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (WDTC) also celebrated its successful participation at the festival grounds in Al Athaiba by announcing the names of winners who participated in their raffle draws.

Dignitaries from various prominent fields announced the names of the winners in draws which were held at the Welcare stand in Al Athaiba every Friday. Dr Salim al Zanji Ba Mukhlef, Head of the Directorate of Private Health Establishments, Ministry of Health, Anil Wadhwa, Indian Ambassador, Aesha Ahmad Suwaidan al Balushi, Deputy Director-General of Ministry of Education, and Mona Taha Aamer, legal consultant, were some of the guests who drew names of winners in different categories.

The winner of the grand prize of a return air ticket Muscat to Bangkok by E-Travel and Tours was Zawan Ebrahim Hassan al Balushi. Dr Pavan Kumar Shrivastava, Medical Director, WDTC Oman, said: "It was a wonderful experience for us to have participated in the Muscat Festival. Around 2,200 visitors availed of the check-up services we provided at our stand, 25 people with no previous history of diabetes were found to have high blood sugar, and 48 were diagnosed with having high blood pressure.

About 11 per cent of our visitors were found to be overweight, all have been recommended to go in for further investigation to enable them to lead healthy lives." Welcare Centre thanked the Muscat Municipality and members of the festival organising committee for the excellent arrangements made for visitors, tourists and participants during the duration of the festival.
