TUNIS - Interim Prime Minister Ali Larayedh conferred on Tuesday with Turkish businessman Ihsan Arslan, who plans to build a large commercial complex with over 600 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) investments in La Goulette, the Northern Lake area in Tunis.
"This project, which will open up wide employment and commercial prospects, is currently under study in collaboration with the concerned departments," Minister in charge of Economic Issues Ridha Saidi indicated according to a Prime Ministry press release.
The Turkish investor, who has recently opened an office to run his business in Tunisia, "showed interest for major investment projects as part of Tunisian-Turkish co-operation," Saidi added.
Mr. Arslan reaffirmed willingness to support the Tunisian Government and local businessmen by boosting bilateral co-operation, the press release says.
Saidi also announced the visit next Friday in Tunisia of Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bashir Atalay who will lead a delegation of Turkish businessmen ahead of a visit by Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Ihsan Arslan is a leading Turkish businessman operating in the sectors of trade, hypermarkets, construction, infrastructure, property development, industry, petrochemicals and metallurgy.
