Muscat - Oman's leading pipe manufacturer, TMK Gulf International Pipe Industry (TMK GIPI), a subsidiary of global pipe manufacturer TMK, was recently given an order of 1,400MT of 3LPE coated line pipes by the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
The order was given through Indian EPC contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Hydrocarbon (Oman branch) for the Yibal GGP third stage depletion compression project.
Coating structure
The 3LPE coating system is a multi-layer coating structure comprising three coating materials of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE), copolymer adhesive and PE or PP top coats for steel pipe anti-corrosion.
With years of experience and expertise in 3LPE pipes and anti-corrosion coating materials, TMK GIPI has established itself as a leading technology player in Oman, and has been recognised for its performance in oil and gas pipeline corrosion-resistant field.
Contract with PDO/L&T

TMK Gulf International Pipe Industry (TMK GIPI) was established as a limited liability company in Oman, in January 2007. TMK GIPI is the first manufacturer of high pressure steel line pipes and casing pipes in Oman, and the first mill in Middle East and North African (Mena) region, to manufacture high pressure 24" electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes.
Presently, TMK GIPI is a part of TMK, which is a global steel pipe manufacturer, with about 30 production sites in the United States, Russia, Canada, Romania, Oman, the UAE, and Kazakhstan, and two research and development centres in Russia and the United States.
