ZANZIBAR -- Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education, yesterday visited Zanzibar University. Dr Rawya is here to attend the launching ceremony of the Sultan Qaboos Academic Qualification Programme in Zanzibar University. A joint team from the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Zanzibar University is supervising the programme.
The programme aims at qualifying students in the university to enable them to get the qualifications required by the university and labour market there. In talks with the university's staff, Dr Rawya said that the programme comes as part of an MoU with Zanzibar government to upgrade the level of the country's university.
