The Capital Club, Dubai’s premier private City Club and member of the ENSHAA group of companies, has completed its first cheque handover of the year to its Charity of Choice for 2014 - INJAZ-UAE, a member of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide.
The handover ceremony, which took place on the 18th of June, was attended by Emma Cullen, General Manager of The Capital Club Dubai and Sulaf Saleh Al-Zu’bi, CEO of INJAZ-UAE saw The Club present a portion of the proceeds from three of its premium social events, namely The Club’s Anniversary Celebration, its Celebrity Chef evening with Greg Malouf, and its Guest Chef Dinner with Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor.
Speaking on the occasion, Emma Cullen, The Capital Club General Manager, said, “We are thrilled to be able to support the invaluable work being done by INJAZ-UAE. As the central hub for Dubai’s business elite, we are keenly aware of the vital importance of nurturing the next generation of business leaders, and it is a privilege to be part of the growth of a bright new crop of entrepreneurs, innovators, and pioneers.”
A partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, INJAZ-UAE links corporate volunteers to youth to mentor them on work readiness, entrepreneurial, and financial literacy skills to ignite the spark in young people to learn and experience the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century. Since 2005, INJAZ UAE reached 25,000 students from 43 schools and universities through the support of 2000+ corporate volunteers representing 60 companies - an annual growth rate of 150 per cent.
Sulaf Saleh Al-Zu’bi, CEO of INJAZ UAE remarked, “The Capital Club’s position within Dubai’s business community has proven invaluable in helping us reach out to more corporate volunteers and in providing the professional space for our students, mentors, and business partners to meet to exchange skills and ideas. As a business education organization this is the perfect fit.”
The cheque handover forms part of the partnership agreement reached between the two organizations. In addition to donating a dedicated portion of the profits from a range of The Club’s premier events to INJAZ, The Club furthermore pledged to host and promote six dedicated awareness seminars annually featuring prominent local, regional, and international corporate figures at the Capital Club for its Members and their guests. In addition INJAZ has been provided access to The Capital Club’s meeting facilities to help the organisation in hosting a number of INJAZ’s awareness sessions.
