Doha - Teyseer Motors, dealers of Suzuki vehicles here, will be launching the XL7 all-wheel drive vehicle in January next year. The car - and it is very obvious at first glance - is by far the largest to come off the Japanese carmaker's assembly line.
The newcomer was on display at the Sheraton Doha where the 'Suzuki Middle East Distributors' Convention' was being held.
Distributors from the Middle East gathered here for the internal meeting hosted by Teyseer Motors.
Teyseer Motors President and Director of the Teyseer Group, Adel Al Mannai said: "It is good that Qatar is hosting this event. We have been trying for some time for this meeting to be held here."
Al Mannai said: "All distributors from the Middle East are present here. The turnout is impressive, especially as there is an auto show going on now in Dubai."
The meeting was to discuss basic distribution issues as well as the challenges facing the business. "Our 4x4 vehicles are our top sellers. Demand for Suzuki vehicles cannot be met as the factory cannot produce enough to keep up," said Al Mannai.
Speaking on the XL7, displayed for the first time here, the official said: "We are expecting our first shipments soon. We will be launching the vehicle here in January. We were hoping to do it earlier, but held off due to Ramadan and Eid. After this, there will be festivals like Christmas, so we chose to launch in January 2008."
