Category X oilfields are most at risk. If sanctions persist over 10 years or so, and they are produced at higher levels without pressure support, there could be some reservoir damage. But this risk is mitigated by the lower production demand on Iran, which eases the requirement of these fields to produce at higher volumes, said Wells. Most of Iran's production falls into Category 4, where the only issues are managing gas production from the Pazanan field for gas injection and balancing the gas recycling.
