Damascus - A 5-day seminar on 'The Information Technology in Government Establishments kicked off on Sunday at Damascus-based Syrian Computer Society (SCS) HQ, organized with cooperation of the Arab Organization for Administration Development (AOAD) and the Higher Institute for Business Administration (HIBA).

During the opening session, member of the SCS Board of Directors Ammar Kheir Bek pointed out to the importance of similar symposiums and the need to expand computer technology in Syria vertically after its horizontal expansion.

For his part, HIBA Dean Talal Abboud underlined the Seminar's role in qualifying Syrian expertise, pointing out to the Institute's role in rehabilitation of the workforce that entered the job market recently.

Seminar coordinator and member of the AOAD Zein Eddin Abdul Hadi affirmed the importance of cooperation with the circles concerned in Arab countries, emphasizing the role of his organization in training cadres in various professional fields.

Later, Executive Director of the Emirates company Five Dimensions Atef Obaid gave a lecture on the phenomena of the 'drain brain of intellectual capital from government establishments: Reasons and Solution'. 

Afterwards, Executive Director of the Egyptian company IT Vision Ahmad Sabri delivered a lecture on 'Crisis Management of Information Systems in Government Establishments'.

Also, HIBA Dean Talal Abboud lectured on the relation between successful leadership of government establishments and information technology.
