Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday that the government exercises administrative skills to tackle impacts of sanctions on national economy.

He regretted that the former government failed to make investments in the development projects envisaged in 20-Year Economic, Cultural and Social Development Plan despite Iran earned dlrs 700 billion from oil revenues in the past eight years.

He told the Friday Prayers Leaders in the holy City of Qom that the former government did not make optimum use of the oil revenues and distributed them ignoring the strategy plan for the economic development.

Referring to the guidelines made by the Supreme Leader on the need to adopt war-time economy and planning must be made to generate jobs and income for the people, Larijani said that without launching production line it is impossible to curb unemployment.

To maintain the countrys independence, Iran should be independent in removing its strategic needs, he said.
Larijani said that the national industry ruined during the term of former president must be revitalized and the government must adopt mechanism to stop excessive import of goods and products to give the national industry a chance to breath and generate jobs.

People should be encouraged for investments in various parts of the economy as well as production of goods, Larijani said.

Larijani said that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution is very sensitive about cultural and Islamic issues and the national dignity have roots in Islam.

On Islamic awareness, he said Islamic Ummah is now awakening and stood up to undertake administration of their nations in the Middle East.

He expressed concern about rise of extremism and sectarian violence which led to bloodshed of innocent people in the Middle East.

He accused certain segments of the western media of escalating Islamophobia and sectarian violence.
He said that certain governments believe that they can use the extremist groups for their own ends and they can get rid of them whenever they wanted, but, they are making mistake and the terrorism will first of all hurt its own sponsors .

He said that the extremists are now active in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen and that they harm the prestige of Muslims and sow discords among Muslims.

All should be vigilant to avoid rift between the Shia and Sunni Muslims.
