DAMASCUS - Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Kinda Shammat affirmed that the humanitarian aid provided by the Russian people to the Syrian people reflect the depth of the historic relations between them.
During a meeting on Sunday with a delegation representing the Russian civil societies that helped gather the humanitarian relief shipment, al-Shammat said that her Ministry is working alongside its partners to implement its relief plan and provide the needs of families affected by terrorism.
She underlined the scale of the challenges facing the Higher Committee for Relief due to lack of resources caused by the economic sanctions imposed on Syria, specifically in medical fields.
For his part, State Minister for Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Affairs Joseph Sweid said that the Higher Committee has a plan for distributing the aid provided by Russia to those who need it via civil societies and SARC branches.
In turn, head of the Russian delegation Oleg Fomin affirmed that the Russian people stand alongside the Syrian people in their time of need in order to preserve Syria's independence and its characterizing coexistence.
