Lattakia - Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Kinda al-Shammat paid a tour to the villages of Oubin, Abu Makka and Mazraat al-Qlei'a in al-Haffeh area in Lattakia to which the army restored security and stability early last August.
Minister al-Shammat referred to the terrorist attacks that have hit all aspects of life and deprived children of their basic rights in education and health services.
The minister added that the ministry is working to launch a project in Lattakia countryside for developing rural areas, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
The minister pointed to the possibility of providing a source of income for the locals who have returned to these villages from makeshift centers, in addition to compensating them for the damage caused to their properties and lands.
The social affairs minister said, during her meeting with army members at a military checkpoint in Lattakia northern countryside, that the Syrian soldiers, who are pursuing terrorists, are also carrying out humanitarian missions such as evacuating civilians and delivering relief aid.
For his part, Lattakia governor said the tour is aimed at inspecting the level of services in order to meet the needs of citizens, pointing out that the school of Oubin village has been rehabilitated and the basic services restored to the village.
The locals called for compensating them for damage inflicted on their properties and lands.
Army units restored security and stability to a number of towns and villages in Lattakia northern countryside after eliminating the armed groups that have entered the area and committed atrocities there.
