Actor, singer and veejay Raageshwari Loomba said yesterday she's eager to spread new hopes for peace between India and Pakistan.

The bubbly and multi-talented Indian star will be the compere of a show tonight to celebrate the 40 years of the India Club in Dubai.

"Indians and Pakistanis live here in Dubai in harmony," she said responding to a question, and added that she had taken part in a joint cultural programme in the UAE last year.

The two nuclear neighbours recently made peace overtures and relations have thawed to an extent that Pakistan Airlines is once again flying to India.

Artistes from both countries are also playing a role in bringing about better understanding between the two neighbours.

The artiste is well-known for her stint as a veejay on Channel V. She is also famous as an actress who has starred opposite Bollywood stars such as Govinda, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, and also for her hugely successful albums, Duniya and Pyar ka Rang.

Asked what the Indian government should do to help artistes like her, she quipped: "Help us by reducing taxes."

The other thing she said the government should take care of is the widespread social disparity. Raageshwari is planning another album, the music for which is being composed by her father, musician Trilok Loomba.

The main stars tonight, playback singers Sunidhi Chauhan of 'Bhumro' fame, and K.K., will be backed by a band of eight. The other artistes are Piyush, Umi Girls (of song Saiya Dil Mein Aana Re fame), mimicry artist Navnath Prabhakar, DJ Monica and Jasmine Oza's dance troupe.
