Moscow -- The Saudi Shoura Council's delegation, on an official visit to Russia, today toured the International Relations University, an affiliate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Islamic Cultural Center and the Mufteen Council.

During the visits, the delegation, led by Dr. Mohammed bin Saad Al-Salem, member of the Council and Chairman of the Saudi Russian Parliamentary Association, received warm welcome and was briefed on the activities of the three landmarks of the Russian capital of Moscow.

At the university, the first of its kind as it manages to teach 53 foreign languages, the delegation paid a visit to Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Arabic language which was established in December 2009.

For his part, Al-Salem conveyed to the leaders of the university the greetings of the Saudi leadership and briefed them on the Saudi educational renaissance, citing the increase of government universities in Saudi Arabia over the last four years from seven to 25 including a high-level females university.

In response to questions from journalists, members of the delegation explained the high-profile of the Saudi women in the Islamic society, the situation of the Saudi Russian relations and the Saudi economy, defying western media false allegations on the three topics.

At the Islamic Cultural Center, the Director of the facility Abdulwahid Niazi lauded the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the service of Islam and Muslims, particularly his role in the process of rapprochement among followers of different religions, civilizations and cultures through his initiative for international dialogue and peaceful co-existence. He also lauded the King's program to host pilgrims and the benefit of thousands of Russian pilgrims from this gesture.

At the Mufteen Council's headquarters, Sheikh of Russia's Mufteen Council lauded the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the service of Islam and Muslims. He highlighted the role played by his Council matching with the role of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in the call for co-existence and dialogue among followers of different cultures, religions and civilizations.

He said the Kingdom, led by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, his Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz and the Second Deputy Premier Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, has spared no effort in the support of Muslim causes at different regional and international platforms since the days of its founder late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.

He lauded the Kingdom's position against terrorism, emphasizing that terrorism never belongs to a certain religion or nation.
