Abu Dhabi, Mar 30th, 2013 (WAM)--The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (SZGMC) has recently held a ceremony to honor four tourist companies from different emirates, for their commitment to following the visitor services procedures of the mosque. Companies included; Karma Tourism, Emirates Oasis Tourism, Gulf Circle Tours and World of Travel.
Yousif Al Obaidli, the Director of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center welcomed the selected companies and thanked them for their commitment in adhering to the procedures for visitor services which have been set by the SZGMC. The procedures were established to enhance the visitor experience and enable guests to best view the beautiful architecture and experience ambience of the mosque. Al Obaidli said; "The SZGMC regularly recognises tourism companies committed to the visitor services procedures". He explained that dedicated companies would be recognized for their efforts in serving and educating tourists by offering them additional facilities inside the mosque such as exclusive access to certain areas and paths of the mosque. He added: "We are keen to encourage communication with representatives of tourism operators and tourist guides who are working in the country, to achieve the optimum quality standards for the mosque?s visitors, and to ensure that their expectations are met." The SZGMC organised a workshop by last October, entitled "Visitor Services Development", and it was attended by almost 150 representatives from tourism companies and tourist guides from across the UAE, in order to familiarise them with the online booking and operational procedures to visit the mosque which started on October 21, 2012. Since its launch, there has been great support and engagement from the tourism industry with a compliance of approximately 95 per cent, according to a survey conducted by the SZGMC recently. The attending tourism companies thanked Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center for its generosity and the administration's efforts to facilitate procedures for tourists of various nationalities.
