Dubai, Jun 27, 2008 (WAM)--Under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Foundation for Management and Organization of Events, will honour the winners of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES) 2007-2008, at a ceremony to be organized by the Department of Economic Development (DED), on June 29, 2008, at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The Awards, which are part of DEDs ongoing efforts to further enhance the Emirates service culture in retail industries, recognise and honour high-performing retail outlets and brands. The winners, who have achieved exceptional service performance levels, have been adjudged on the basis of mystery shopper input. Over 450 participants from the different retail business sectors in Dubai are expected to attend the ceremony. "DSES seeks to ensure that Dubai-based businesses with high customer interface will integrate superior service quality concepts into their business procedures in a sustained, professional and systematic manner. Business establishments in Dubai must contribute significantly to further strengthen Dubais image as the trade and business hub in the region. This can be achieved only by implementing stringent quality standards, especially in relation with customer service aspects," said Khalid Al Kassim, deputy director general for Planning and Development at DED. He added that the DSES is an ongoing initiative from DED to enhance Dubais international competitiveness, economic growth and increased productivity through high service quality standards. DED launched Dubai Service Excellence Scheme in 2002 in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance and develop service standards in the Emirate and establish Dubais leading role as a regional commercial and retail hub.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2008.
