Doha - Chef de Cuisine of Al Liwan restaurant at Sharq Village and Spa, Ali Hadla, led a class of nine students to demonstrate the preparation of six authentic Lebanese dishes such as tabbouleh, shrimp mashkoul and kibbeh bi laban. Participant Richard Butler said: "This was a fantastic experience for me and my son, Sam. The class provided a deep insight into Lebanese cuisine and I look forward to trying some of these recipes at my home".
The three hour hands-on class was interactive and participants were provided with a binder and CD of recipes to take home. The youngest chef to be, eight year old Elize McMahon said that her favourite part of the lesson was making Kibbeh, a cutlet made with crushed bulgur wheat and minced lamb filling. "I really liked using my fingers to mould the dough into small round shapes" she said.
The next class by Chef Ali Hadla will take place at Al Liwan at 3.30pm on November 27. One can contact, restaurant reservations for signing up for the class.
