SHARJAH, 18th May, 2015 (WAM) -- Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Ras al-Khaimah, has opened the new branch of Sharjah Islamic Bank, SIB.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, Ahmed Saad, Deputy CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, Ahmed Obaid Ahmed Alteneiji, General Director of RAK Economic Department and a number of the bank?s top clients. The new branch, the 2nd in 2015, brings the total number of SIB?s branches across the UAE to 32.

The Ras al-Khaimah branch is strategically situated in the heart of Al Nakheel, one of the prime business areas in the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, in an easily accessible location, and has ample parking to meet the needs of Ras al-Khaimah customers, including businesses, employees, and residents.

Commenting on the occasion, Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, said, "We are opening the Sharjah Islamic Bank?s branch in Ras al-Khaimah to cater for the increasing demand for banking services in the emirate. The move is part of the bank?s expansion strategy focusing on spreading its branches across different areas in the UAE and also keeps pace with the overall growth of the banking sector in general and Islamic banking in particular." This step falls in line with Sharjah Islamic Bank?s policy to upgrade its services by opening new branches to get closer to its retail and corporate clients and offer its banking services such as corporate and retail finance among many more banking products.
