Medesa GmbH and the German Industry & Commerce Office Muscat (AHK) are hosting a seminar on the advantages of Compressed Mechanical Vapour Desalination Technology at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Muscat on October 25. Mohammed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water will officiate as Chief Guest and keynote speaker. Intention of the seminar is to introduce a more efficient and environment-friendly process to desalinate seawater and is especially suited for small to middle size requirements of potable and industrial fresh water.
Angelika Storz-Chakarji, the German Ambassador in Oman, will be present as well, and will give an introduction of the excellence of German technology in the field of water desalination. Dietmar Tietz, Managing Director - MEDESA Technology GmbH, and Clause Mertes - Managing Director DMR German Desalination, will be leading the seminar. Water is the most important resource on the planet. The protection of this resource through an environmentally friendly approach to water purification is the starting point for the ecological desalination plants manufactured by MEDESA.
MEDESA technology produces clean water with a minimal impact on the environment and is leading the way to the future. MEDESA's plants are based on MVC / MED technology and operate on the principle of a combination of "mechanical vapour compression" and "multieffect compression." This technology is unaffected by the red-tide phenomenon and does not require round-the-clock maintenance cycles like conventional RO systems.
The development of the MEDESA Seawater Desalination started in the year 2002 through the co-operation between WT EnergySystems, founded by Tietz and Weber. Their philosophy was and remains to develop micro desalination plants to provide economical drinking water in peripheral areas and for emergency relief applications. This plant is ideally suited for requirements of 100 - 400 m3/day. It has a minimal use of chemical additives and is virtually maintenance-free. Medesa is represented in Oman by Bishara Establishment LLC.
