RIYADH (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Arabia's National Petrochemical Co. (2002.SA) and Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Co. have started operations at their polymer plant in Jubail industrial city, the Saudi firm said on Saturday.

The plant, 65%-owned by the Saudi company and the rest by Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical, is slated to produce 1,165 KMTA of ethylene, 1,100 KMTA of polyethylene, and other products, according to a company statement on the website of the Saudi stock exchange.

National Petrochemical Co. shares were last trading at SAR21.95, up 0.2%.
