The Ministry of Health has allocated SR 25 million for the replacement of medical and non medical equipment in Madinah Region, in order to upgrade health utilities and modernization of medical equipment, in the region.

The Director of Health Affairs in Madinah Region, Dr. Abdul Qadir Bin Ahmed Al Tayyeb said that the Madinah Region Health Affairs Directorate has done everything to fulfil the requirements and upgrade and modernize the region's medical and health care utilities, at different locations, through inviting open tenders.

In some cases, the requirements of these health care facilities, he said, have already been fulfilled. For example, the Badr General Hospital has been completely equipped, upgraded and furnished. Similarly, upgrading work has been completed in respect of Quba Health Care Center. The X-ray Department of King Fahd Hospital has been completely modernized and renovated. Work on Ohud and Prince Abdul Mohsen hospitals has also been completed. The X-ray Department, intensive care unit and laboratory of Al Ansar Hospital in Madinah have been completely modernized. New buildings have been built for Al Faqir, Al Ais and Al Mehd hospitals.

Modern blood analysis equipment have been provided to all hospitals, health centers and initial health care utilities and upgrading work has been completed on all kidney washing units in the region.
