Moscow - Russian Foreign Ministry expressed concern over Jabhat al-Nusra's use of chlorine gas in Kafr Zeita area in Hama countryside.

"We hope that impartial efforts of international experts will help draw an objective picture of what happened and unveil the perpetrators," RT quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement said that Russian has repeatedly raised alarm over the danger of toxic materials falling into the hands of unlawful armed groups. "Moreover, we affirmed that there is no blinking at the possibility of opposition armed groups obtaining chemical weapons and using them against the government forces. " "Unfortunately, our warnings went unheeded,'' added the ministry.

The Russian foreign ministry called for abiding by the international resolution no. 2118 which binds member states to inform the UNSC about violations of resolution no. 1540, including the purchase and transfer of chemical weapons.

The Syrian government has readily signaled readiness to receive a group of experts from the OPCW to probe incidents involving the use of chlorine gas on its territories, added the ministry.

Numerous reports and studies have laid blame for chemical attacks in Syria on the US administration and Turkey, among other countries.
