DOHA: Organisers of this year's Wheels 'n' Heels Community Fun Day said the event created a legacy that will create a wave of excitement and anticipation for next year's celebration.
Thousands of people attended the entertainment extravaganza in Sheraton Park since Friday until yesterday, making Wheels 'n' Heels 2010 the biggest occasion in the event's four-year history.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, Wheels 'n' Heels 2010 raised hundreds of thousands riyals to support Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) educational programmes in Asia, the Middle East and Qatar. Wheels 'n' Heels 2010 sponsors included Flagship Sponsor Qatar Petroleum, Leadership Sponsor Jaidah Group, Official Fundraiser HSBC, Official Partner Qatar Cycling Federation and Partners Qtel, Vodafone and Qatar Tennis Federation.
"Reach Out To Asia would like to thank all our Wheels 'n' Heels 2010 sponsors. They have made a significant contribution to the huge success of the event and we appreciate all the hard work, donations and support," Essa Al Mannai ROTA Director.
Officials also lauded Official Fundraiser HSBC, whose generous donation of QR50 for every completed lap of the Wheels 'n' Heels Circuit is expected to add hundreds of thousands riyals to fund ROTA's education projects.
