DOHA: Qatar-based Retaj Hotels and Hospitality group yesterday announced expanding its footprint in overseas business, especially in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, a senior official of the company said.
"We are working on plans to open new hotels in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Currently the projects are at study and negotiation stages. The construction work on these upcoming ventures are expected to begin from 2014," Maagid Saarany, Chief Executive Officer of the Company told The Peninsula yesterday.
Established in 2004 as a property development company to provide solutions in the areas of selling, buying, leasing and management of properties, the group has now grown to manifolds. It owns eight luxury and budget properties, six in Qatar and one each in Istanbul (Turkey) and Comoros, a sovereign island nation in the Indian Ocean, located at the eastern coast of Africa. Some of its luxury properties in Qatar include Retaj Al Rayan Hotel, Retaj Royale Doha and Retaj Moroni Sports & Leisure Resort. All of its investments and businesses are carried out in compliance with Shariah.
The group was recently recognised and awarded by the Amsterdam-based 'Booking.com', the world leader in online booking of accommodations.
Booking.com B V is owned and operated by Priceline.com. Each day, over 500,000 room nights are reserved through the website without any reservation fees.
The online website, available in more than 40 languages, guarantees the best prices for every type of property, from small, family-run bed and breakfasts to executive apartments and five-star luxury suites. It offers bookings for over 347,000 properties in 185 countries.
"I also take the pleasure to announce that we recently received two prestigious awards for 'Best Guest Review' from the internationally renowned 'booking.com' for our unrivalled products and services," added Saarany.
"Our Unique Selling Point (USP) is that, even in our budget hotels and studio apartments, we do not let our guests feel or sacrifice services that they enjoy in our luxury hotel rooms by serving them 24x7."
Retaj Hotels and Hospitality is a member of Booking.com for over three years, and has become one of the fastest growing Shariah compliant companies in the country.
"We believe that a valued and respected workforce is fundamental to the success of our operations. Investing in people and providing excellent training will ensure continuous improvement. We also place high value to maintain our reputation, and ensure that we deliver sustainable developments of distinction on time and on budget," said Saarany.
As part of its long-term vision, Retaj aims to position itself as a leading hospitality specialist management company, driven by the desire to provide its customers with innovative concepts of service, through consistently delivering quality products and Arabic traditional customer service, while maximising financial returns for stakeholders.
