Doha - As part of the RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the company recently made a generous donation to the Ebad Al Rahman Holy Quran Centre, a Quaranic study centre operating under the guidance of the Sheikh Eid Charity Establishment. The contribution will support ten Qatari students to attend the Madinah Munawara gathering of GCC and overseas students for fifty days to develop their Quaranic study skills.

In the presence of both RasGas and Ebad Al Rahman Holy Quran Centre representative Nafez Bseiso, RasGas Acting Managing Director (CEO) presented the cheque to Ayd Al Qahtani, Deputy Managing Director of the Sheikh Eid Charity Establishment and Centre Manager at the Ebad Al Rahman Holy Quran Centre.

The ten students were selected from throughout Qatar and represent the best students in Quaranic verse recitation. At the Madinah Munawara gathering the students will attend intensive Quran studies and will participate in a Quran memorising competition at the end of the fifty days of study.

Speaking after the official ceremony, Bseiso said: "Throughout the years RasGas' CSR programme has grown to include many health, social, sporting and educational establishments. Throughout this summer emphasis has been placed on supporting a number of educational initiatives throughout Qatar. In particular RasGas sponsored 15 Qatari female students from elementary schools of Qatar and 10 Qatari male students from the Al Dhakhira and Al Khor areas to travel to the United Kingdom for specialised English language training. We are also pleased to sponsor this group of 10 young students to spend their summer vacation attending the Madinah Munawara gathering." "This is the first time that RasGas has supported students from the Ebad Al Rahman Holy Quran Centre and we wish the students well in their studies and in the final Quran verse reciting competition at the end of their stay. We look forward to meeting all three groups of students upon their return to Doha."

Speaking on behalf of Ebad Al Rahman Holy Quran Centre, Ayd Al Qahtani, Deputy Managing Director thanked RasGas for their generous donation and said, "RasGas is recognised in our society as a leading supporter of charity establishments in Qatar. QR150,000 to Al Amal Hospital
As part of company's CSR programme, RasGas recently presented one of its nominated charities, the Al Amal Hospital, with a cheque for QR 150,000 at an official ceremony conducted at the hospital.

Following the cheque handover by Nafez Bseiso, RasGas Acting Managing Director (CEO), Mahmoud Saleh Al Raisi, Al Amal Hospital Executive Director and Dr Hanadi Al Ayobi, Al Amal Chief of Staff led the RasGas delegation on a tour of the high-tech medical facility.

The money donated by RasGas will provide financial assistance to some of the hospital's expatriate patients who, through various circumstances, are unable to pay the fees required for their highly specialist treatment at the hospital. Commenting after the tour, Nafez Bseiso said, "As a leading energy company and employer, RasGas has long history of supporting worthy causes in Qatar. Through its comprehensive CSR programme, the company has been involved and supported a range of educational, medical, cultural and environmental initiatives. RasGas is proud of the company's strong connections within Qatari society and both our long standing relationships within the community and in assisting new organisations such as the Al Amal Hospital."
