DOHA: RasGas' Integrated Management System "RasGas Elements for Excellence (RGEE)" has been certified to the updated occupational health and safety standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

The OHSAS standard, revised in 2007, specifies requirements for top class organisations in demonstrating commitment to the occupational health and safety of their employees and stakeholders..

Through RGEE, RasGas is committed to reducing incidents to its people, plant and environment to zero.

The accreditation was awarded to RasGas by Bureau Veritas Certification (BVC), a world leader in certification services.

BVC assessed RasGas' Integrated Management System, RGEE, in November 2008 determining it to be in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard.

The scope of this standard covers the operation and construction of production facilities of liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gases, sales gases, condensates, helium and sulphur. RasGas also received recertification to the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001 and Environment Management System Standard ISO 14001, for an additional three years.

With these achievements, RasGas further asserts its role as a leading world class global energy supplier striving for excellence. Conformity with international standards and best practices enable RasGas develop, produce and sell hydrocarbons from the world's largest non-associated gas field in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, RasGas said in a statement.
