Free shuttle services will be offered to travellers
Dubai RAK Airways yesterday said it will start flights to the Bangladeshi cities Dhaka and Chittagong.
Effective December 15, RAK Airways will offer three flights a week to Dhaka and three flights a week to Chittagong.
RAK Airways CEO Omar Jahameh said, “With our new routes to Bangladesh, RAK Airways is delivering on its mandate to provide travellers with a value offering to a range of exciting destinations.”
Jahameh explained the destinations had been strategically chosen.
“With flights to the nation’s capital Dhaka — the centre of economy and commerce as well as to the coastal, tourist hot-spot, Chittagong, RAK Airways passengers can take advantage of the latent opportunities for trade and tourism that exist between the UAE and Bangladesh,” Jahameh said.
With the setting up of a permanent trade and display centre in the UAE, Bangladesh has shifted its focus from manpower exports and is now looking to the UAE as a full-fledged trading partner.
Bangladesh’s capital is renowned for its historical architecture and is also known as the City of Mosques.
Vibrant seaport
Chittagong, Bangladesh’s second largest city, is a vibrant seaport and an attractive tourist destination that boasts rainforests and lush, sandy beaches.
Included in the price of each RAK Airways flight to Bangladesh is a full hot meal and non-alcoholic beverages aboard all flights, a baggage allowance of 40kg per passenger as well as the normal hand baggage allowance and free shuttle service between the neighbouring emirates for each flight.
Flights to Dhaka will take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaving RAK International Airport at 6.30pm and arriving in Dhaka at 1am the following day.
Return flights from Dhaka will be on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving at 2am and arriving at RAK International Airport at 5am.
