Doha: A world forum on 'social changes and dialectics of culture and values' will open at the Doha Sheraton Hotel here on January 22 with intellectuals from all over the world taking part.

The four-day forum which is organised by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage (NCCAH) will be opened by the NCCAH chairman H E Sheikh Mashaal bin Jassem bin Mohamed Al Thani.

The participants will take up a range of topics covering the societies and their cultures, values, information, dialectics of knowledge and values, modern societies, dominant and subordinate cultures, values of tolerance and roots of hatred culture.

Among key speakers are Jordan's Prince Hassan bin Talal, Dr Burhan Ghalyoon from France who will touch on 'Globalisation of Anarchy', Dr Abdullah Al Nafiise from Kuwait who will talk about the 'Central and Peripheral Culture: Inter-action or Hegemony.'

Dr Tayeb from Syria will take up 'Multiple Identities or One Universal Identity,' Dr Abdullah Al Tamimi will address 'Arab Culture and Social Changes' and Jordan's Dr Khaled Al Kurki will talk about 'Nationalist Culture and Religious Culture Conflict or Dialogue', Qatar's Dr Abdullah Ibrahim shall address traditional societies and dialogue of culture and values. Also from Qatar is Dr Abdul Hamid Al Ansari who will focus on despotism and the roots of hatred culture.

Among the speakers are Kuwaiti Dr Khaldoun Al Naqeeb who will tackle 'Traditional Societies and Foreign Pressure' while Qatar's Dr Juhainah Al Easa shall focus on 'Means of Empowering Women in Developing Societies', Mohammad Saleh Al Kuwari will deal with 'Social Changes in Qatar, Between Reality and Hopes.'

From Iraq Dr Bushra Mousa will take up 'Cultural Role of Women in Arab Societies' and Bahrain's Dr Baqeer Al Najar shall touch on the role of 'Arab Women and Values of the Consumer Society.'
