Doha: Senior executives from Shell leading Pearl GTL, the integrated Gas to Liquid (GTL) project, hosted recently the project's second Town Hall meeting in Doha for around 120 representatives from Qatar's contractor community.

A detailed description of Pearl GTL's contracting strategy was presented to the audience with focus placed on the many potential contracting opportunities associated with the world-scale project.

Speaking on the occasion, Andrew Brown, Managing Director of the Pearl GTL Project noted: "The Pearl GTL Project is an exciting world scale project that will help Qatar meet its aspiration to become the GTL capital of the world and underlines Shell's leadership in GTL technology.

This second Town Hall meeting in Doha reinforces our strong commitment to attract qualified local resources to contribute to the delivery of this endeavour". The Pearl GTL management said the project has now entered the Contracting and Procurement phase, while the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the onshore and offshore components of the project is now complete as are the two appraisal wells.
