DUBAI - Qatar Airways has taken the delivery of two Airbus A321s, commencing a new type of operation. The airline already possess an all-Airbus fleet, which includes A319s, A320s as well as the larger A330s. Thus, the new aircraft will fit easily into its operation it will be flown and maintained by the same pilots and mechanics.
 
The A 321 aircraft powered by International Aero Engines V2500s, features12 passenger seats in the business class and 177 seats in economy class.
 
Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airways, said: "Our passengers like the extra comfort that they get when flying in Airbus single-aisle A320 Family, and we benefit from its greater economy and operational flexibility."
 
Qatar Airways was the world's first customer for the Airbus ACJ and A319 Long Range, is an important A330 client, and is one of the first customers for the A380 21st Century flagship.
