Dubai: Dubai-based Touchmate has launched the thinnest 3G tablet — Speedo — at Gitex. The 9.4-inch device is powered by 1.6GHz A9 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It is also the first tablet in the world with 2GB RAM — normally tablets have 1GB RAM.
The 10-point touch device uses Sharp’s IPS capacitive screen. The thickness of the tablet is just 4mm compared to Apple iPad 4’s 9.4mm.
The internal storage capacity can be expanded up to 16GB using a microSD slot. The device has a 5MP auto focus rear camera with led flash light and 2MP front facing camera.
Regarding ports, it has a microUSB and HDMI and also features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity has and dual speakers in the front.
The tablet is priced at Dh1,499, but for Gitex it is priced at Dh1,299 plus buyers get a softcase, HDMI cable and 16GB microSD card for free.
There is also the chance for a couple to win a two-night holiday worth Dh750. There are around 46 destinations to choose from.
