President's Advisor: Islamic world in its richest historical era

IRI President Advisor in Sunni Folks Affairs said here Wednesday wealth and possibilities available in Islamic world today are unprecedented ever since the advent of Islam.

According to IRNA, Mowlavi Mohammad-Es'haq Madani who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought Of Bandar Abbas added, 'It would be appropriate and praiseworthy if the Islamic countries would take proper advantage of this golden opportunity, resort to Islamic unity and solidarity, refrain from acting against one another, and thus achieve their truly deserved status in the world.'

He reiterated, 'Unfortunately, due to the intrigues of the enemies and the bad taste of some Islamic world leaders, the followers of Islamic schools of thought resort to destructive moves against one anther, and such moves only lead to ignoring the real enemies of the world Muslims.'

The IRI President's Advisor Mowlavi Madani emphasizing the suggestions of the sagacious Leader of the Revolution on need for true and grass root Islamic unity between the She's and Sunni Muslims, referred to the establishment of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, or the University of Islamic Schools of Thought, as some of the basic initiatives made by the Islamic Republic of Iran aimed at achieving real unity within the troubled Islamic world.

Mowlavi Madani noted that the emergence of differences of opinion among the different Islamic schools of thought was a natural phenomenon, reiterating, 'The important matter is differentiating between differences of ideas and observing enmity, which unfortunately due to the guidance of some ignorant masters and professors the differences of opinion are turned into deep enmities, alignments against one another, and insults.'

The Managing Director of Expansion Projects of the Ministry of Sciences, Research and Technology Abolfazl Hassani, too, said at the ceremony that improvement of the status of Iran during the recent years is noteworthy, adding, 'The credible and reputable scientific circles of the world have approved Iran's 16th status in the world today.'

Hassani said that the population of the world has been doubled, but the population of the country's university students has multiplied 24 times their number before the revolution, having reached 4,400,000 students today.

He said that the establishment of the University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought is among the different and effective moves which resorting to a scientific approach leads to the proximity of the Islamic Ummah's (nation's) hearts and minds, and their unity.

According to this official, the branches of this university have thus far been opened in Sanandaj, Zahedan and Bandar Abbas (with its central branch in Tehran), and the license for establishment of its 6th branch in Golestan province, too, is under survey at the Science Ministry.

The representative of the Supreme Leader in Hormozgan province and Friday Prayers Leader of Bandar Abbas Ayatollah Gholam-Ali Na'eimabadi, too, in his address on the occasion said that Shi'aphobia and Sunniphobia are among the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam and the world Muslim, which can be dismantled if the Shi's and the Sunni folks would have deep understanding of each other and deep insight about the enemies' nature.

Ayatollah Na'eimabadi reiterated, 'Placing side by side of one another of the jurisprudences of the Islamic Schools of thought is the only way for achieving grass root and basic Islamic unity and solidarity.'

The representative of Hormozgan province at the Leadership Experts Assembly added, 'Beyond doubt, establishment of the University Of the Islamic Schools Of Thought has been a sever blow on the face of the global oppressors and their regional mercenaries, that the history ahs revealed their real nature and recently by producing the blasphemous movie the Innocence of Muslims they showed their deep rooted enmity against the world Muslims.

The last speaker at the opening ceremony, the Governor General of Hormozgan province Ebrahim Azizi, referring to the population texture of Hormozgan province, said that the establishment of the University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought in provincial capital, Bandar Abbas, had been a necessity that the cabinet ministers approved during their 4th round of provincial tours.

Azizi reiterated, 'It is expected that with this move and with the full completion of this university when the University of Islamic Sciences, too, would begin it work, the objective of the sagacious Leader of the Revolution for turning the university into the main center for achieving religious ideals would be fully manifested.

The high representative of the government at the province referred to the provided opportunity provided by the establishment of such university for training of the learned and responsible human force for the administrative posts aimed at blocking the path for blind extremism in the fields of religion and the Islamic schools of thought.

At the end of the opening ceremony of the University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought Of Bandar Abbas the scientific center affiliated to the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools Of thought, officially began its academic activities with 60 students.

The students of this university study comparative jurisprudence and laws of various Islamic Schools of Thought up to BA level, and as of the next academic year the number of enrollments at the university would increase noticeably.

The University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought, which is a fruitful outcome of action taken by this forum, was established in the year 1996 in Tehran. Students from different Islamic countries in this university are engaged in studying Islamic Sciences in the field such as, Jurisprudence of Islamic Schools of thought, Qur'an and Hadith Sciences, Islamic History, philosophy and Islamic speech. While practically learning the culture of proximity and peaceful co-existence in Islamic communities coupled with Islamic brotherhood, they will be the cream of experts in Islamic seminaries and suitable propagators of the culture proximity in Islamic communities.

The Ministry of Education In Iran officially recognizes the academic certificates issued by this university. Its scientific board members are professors, scholars and thinkers coming from various Islamic Schools of thought. Meanwhile the University Of Islamic Schools Of Thought has up to now conducted four courses and will soon have complete study programs. The graduates of this University have excelled scientifically and have obtained high marks in various scientific Olympiads.
