DOHA - On the sidelines of the 24th Arab summit in Doha, Acting President Moncef Marzouki conferred on Tuesday with Libya's Prime Minister Ali Zidane and Algeria's Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci.

The Libyan PM said the talk was an occasion to further discuss means to boost Tunisia-Libya partnership, stressing the need to increase exchanges between the two countries particularly in the fields of trade and services and the development of border areas.

President Marzouki's meeting with Algeria's FM dealt with mechanisms of security and military coordination between the two countries, especially regarding borders.

Medelci conveyed in this regard Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's concern about developing cooperation in this field so as to take up the urgent security challenges facing the two countries and the whole region, especially in this period marked by the war in Mali and the widespread arms smuggling.

The talks also focused on means to develop economic relations, increase trade exchanges between Tunisia and Algeria and further boost border areas.
