Damascus - President Bashar al-Assad received on Wednesday leader of Marada Movement Lebanese MP Suleiman Frangieh.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the rapidly developed Syrian-Lebanese relations and their future prospects as well as the importance of  bolstering these relationsin all levels to protect the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries and enhance their strength and steadfastness, particularly in light of the frequent Israeli threats against Syria and Lebanon.

MP Frangieh's visit comes in the framework of the visits by Lebanese officials and politicians to Syria with the purpose of bolstering relations between the two countries.

 Several Lebanese officials including Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, Leader of the Free Patiotic Movement MP Michel Aoun, Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri, Leader of the Progressive Socilaist Party Walid Jumblatt and Leader of the Lebanese Democratic Part Prince Talal Arslan have visited during the last four months,.

Talks during these visits affirmed opening new prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
