Yasouj, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Prov: IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Wednesday considered Mideast as most important region in the world and Iran as the most powerful country around the globe.
According to IRNA's dispatched presidential affairs reporter to the provincial capital city of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, President Ahamdinejad who was addressing a group of people of all walks of life, added, "The superpowers have been trying hard to exert their hegemony over the entire Middle East region for many decades, and that is basically the reason why the corrupt Zionist regime was established."
The president added, "America and the western powers had assumed that they had finalized the Palestinian issue, but declaring of the Qods Day by Iran changed that situation and today the westerners have come up with the conclusion that without assistance from Iran they cannot do anything in Iraq and the world, yet Iran's strength is not due to our military power, but based on our cultural strength and our good credit among nations."
Comparing the current status of Iran with the conditions of the country 30 years ago, he said, "At that time and during the war the voice of the oppressed Iranian nation was not heard anywhere in the world while our nation and our government were regarded as warmongers and introduced to the world as the indebted side of the war. That is while today our country is demanding its rights today and is the axis of justice seeking and sound logic in the world."
Ahamdinejad said that the prerequisites for constructing Iran and leading the country to the peaks of advancement is preservation of the spirit of selflessness, arguing, "During the former historic eras since the rulers at the time lacked such a spirit, our country lost some parts of Iran's territorial areas."
The president added, "Today the prestige and might of Iran is indebted to the selflessness and the endeavors of this nation and even the other nations are indebted to that spirit of the Iranians, which is the reason why the enemies of Iran are attacking the spirit of selflessness of our nation."
Ahmadinejad reiterated, "If during the war time the slightest negligence had occurred in this respect there would have been no name of Iran and the Iranians today."
