The Teacher Training and Development Centre of Polyglot Institute, affiliated to International House Muscat, is providing training to organisations, industries and individuals in the sultanate and the region.
The centre also offers courses with certificates from internationally recognised institutions. One of these is the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) awarded by the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations board.
The CELTA qualification is regarded throughout the world and is becoming more of a requirement for teachers who wish to pursue a career in teaching English to adults throughout Oman and the Gulf.
Teaching English to speakers of other languages can be a highly rewarding, offering many people the opportunity of living and working abroad. Polyglot Institute Oman affiliated to International House Muscat received its approval from the University of Cambridge to run this course this year and since has run three successful courses, including two intensive summer courses.
The centre will continue to develop and explore other qualifications and awards to continue teacher training development throughout the sultanate and the region.
The centre will run its first Online CELTA course in September, which will be the first course of its kind in Oman.
