Oryx GTL is a sponsor of the 10th edition of the Natural Gas Conversion Symposium (NGCS10), which is being held in Doha from March 2 to 7.

Attracting senior gas industry experts from around the world, NGCS10 provides an opportunity to Oryx GTL to underscore its game-changing contributions to synthesis gas technology development and commercialisation since 2006, and showcase the GTL value proposition.

In his keynote address on the opening day of the symposium, Abdulrahman M al-Suwaidi, chief executive officer, Oryx GTL, said Qatar's decision to become the global gas conversion leader was the result of visionary leadership and was in line with the national strategy of meeting global energy needs.

"To be genuinely successful in meeting these ambitious objectives, it is not enough to have plentiful natural resources at our disposal. We also need strong partnerships and collaborations that can help us confront challenges, benefit from mutual synergies and provide inspiration to others to follow what we believe is a truly sustainable development path," al-Suwaidi said, adding: "Qatar is fortunate to have a highly supportive leadership, a stable operating environment, natural resource wealth and a commitment to developing high-calibre human talent, which makes it ideally placed as a hub for continued innovation to meet energy market needs."

Two senior Oryx GTL experts delivered technical and commercial presentations at the symposium.
Zameer Patel, a manufacturing execution systems specialist, explored Qatar's current gas monetisation strategy and portfolio, focusing on the role that GTL can play to enhance the value from Qatar's gas
portfolio.

Lead business analyst Anton Punt outlined Oryx GTL's inspirational journey over the past seven years, its ability to set new benchmarks of excellence, how close collaboration with the company's licensors allowed it to improve its business, and its future prospects.

Later in the week, Oryx GTL will welcome around 50 NGCS10 delegates on a site visit to its GTL manufacturing complex in RasLaffan.

Oryx GTL converts natural gas into high-specification, low-emission diesel, kerosene and LPG liquid fuels for export to world markets.
