Muscat: With the aim of promoting the high quality local products in the wilayats, the three-day exhibition for Omani products held in the wilayat of Rustaq in Al Batinah South concludes today.
The opening ceremony on Sunday was patronised by Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of the Al Batinah South and in the presence of a number of walis and government units officials, representatives of industrial sector and Omani businessmen.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Al Hajri hailed the concrete efforts undertaken by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) to promote the Omani products through the 'Oman Campaign'.
"Organising these exhibitions play a vital role in spreading awareness on the importance of the Omani products to the consumers throughout the various governorates of the Sultanate. It's such a pride to witness high quality local products available for consumers in the Omani Products Exhibition in Rustaq," Al Hajri said.
More than 50 companies, representing different economic, production and service sectors from inside and outside the industrial estates pertaining to PEIE, are participating in the exhibition, which is the first in the series of Omani Campaign 2012 exhibitions held in the various governorates and wilayats in the Sultanate.
Hilal bin Hamad Al Ahsani, CEO of PEIE and head of 'Omani Campaign', said, "The Omani Products Exhibition in the wilayat of Rustaq is part of PEIE's strategy to raise awareness and enhance the importance of Omani products through organising a series of roadshow exhibitions in various governorates of the Sultanate throughout the year."
"PEIE does not spare any effort through coordination and cooperation with various government and private bodies in order to provide services and facilities that would advance the local industries. Besides, the industrial sector in the Sultanate is a main pillar of evolving the national economy. The high growth and achieved results of the industrial sector contribute directly to gross domestic product and thus enhance the sustainable development of the Sultanate," Al Ahsani added.
It should also be noted that the Sultanate's industrial sector has been playing a major role in creating job opportunities for the Omanis, Al Ahsani stressed.
"The industrial sector is currently embracing more than 14000 of national manpower; besides, there are around 1000 of ongoing projects under construction," Al Ahsani further pointed out.
PEIE plans to expand these exhibitions to other governorates with the aim of contributing to a wider local and international spread of Omani products and to inform consumers of the high quality of local products.
