Muscat: The much-awaited thought leadership forum .Open Minds begins on Wednesday at the Oman Auditorium of Al Bustan Palace Hotel.

The two-day forum will see 10 global leaders and entrepreneurs "synergise, motivate and educate young Omani entrepreneurs and the corporate sector."

They include Sir Richard Branson, award-winning author Lord Jeffrey Archer and humanitarian entrepreneur Her Royal Highness Basmah bint Saud Al Saud along with mountaineer Tom Whittaker, entrepreneur Sahar Hashemi and Satellady Candace Johnson.

Others who make up this elite panel are speed painter Brad Blaze, Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler, scholar Sheikh Khalfan Al Esry and beat boxer Tom Thum.

Black & White are the organisers of the forum and MPPH is the presenter. Bank Muscat, Nawras, and AVOD (Areej Vegetable Oils and Derivatives) along with the Ministry of Tourism, OAMC (Oman Airports Management Company), W J Towell Ajyal Mustaqbal and National Business Centre are the strategic partners. The keynote speaker for the event is Malak Al Shaibani, director general of National Business Centre, the premier platform which supports Omani entrepreneurs.

Giving an Omani touch to the event, inspiring personalities from the Sultanate will be introducing and moderating sessions with the top global icons at the .Open Mind forum on September 3 and 4.

The first day will see Mohamed Al Barwani, chairman, MB Holdings introduce and moderate the session with Sir Richard Branson.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Shikely, general manager marketing, Oman Air will bring on stage Tony Wheeler. HRH Basmah bint Saud Al Saud will be introduced by Maitha Al Mahrouqi, undersecretary at the Ministry of Tourism.

Sayyid Nasr bin Badr Al Busaidi will moderate the session with award-winning author Lord Jeffrey Archer.

Day two will see Omani adventurer Nabil Al Busaidi on stage to introduce amputee mountaineer Tom Whittaker.

Similarly, Bait Al Baranda Curator Malik Al Hinai will introduce Australian speed painter Brad Blaze. Entrepreneur Ghada Mohammed Al Yousef will introduce Sahar Hashemi. International telecommunications expert Candace Johnson will be introduced by Greg Young, Nawras CEO.

Well-known scholar Sheikh Khalfan Al Esry and beat boxer Tom Thum will be introduced by quizmaster Giri 'Pickbrain' Balasubramaniam and journalist Bikram Vohra will also be present as moderators of the event.
