MUSCAT -- The organisers of next week's 'K L Saigal' Hindi theatre show will donate part of the proceeds from the sale of tickets to charities involving in providing assistance to those affected by the recent unusual weather conditions. The show is scheduled on Thursday, July 26 at the Al Falaj Hotel.
Tickets are available at the following locations: Sabco Art LLC office, New Age Music Centre outlets at SABCO Centre-Al Qurum, Lulu Hypermarkets at Darsait and Al Ghubra, Photocentre showroom, Zakher Shopping Mall, Khana Khazana Restaurant, Kamat Restaurant or Pizza Hut at CBD and Al Khuwair. Ticket-holders are eligible to enter a raffle draw with attractive prizes, including a home theatre system, plasma TV set, mobile phones, and so on, on offer.
Dr M Sayeed Alam and Niti Sayeed are presenting the show for the first time in the Gulf region. It is performed by Pierrot's Troupe, which has 45 shows to its credit till date. The play stars prominent theatre and cinema artistes of India, notably Tom Alter, and Uday Chandra, who portrays Saigal in the play. The 90-minute-long musical traces Saigal's life and explores, in the process, the golden years of Hindi film music and cinema.
