Muscat - The new four-star Safeer International Hotel in Al Khuwair has been officially opened for business, it was announced at a press meet held at the hotel's conference hall on Wednesday.
Owned by the Safeer Tourism and Hotel Company (STHC), which is part of the Golden Group of Companies - one of the country's leading hoteliers, the RO 5 million hotel is one of the group's major investments in the Sultanate's booming hospitality and tourism sector.
In all, the group plans to spend RO 70 million on hotels and resorts in Oman. Along with the existing properties - four-star Safeer Hotel Suites, Al Khuwair, two-star Nuzha Hotel and Apartments, Darsait, Al Khuwair Hotel Apartments (budget rating), Ghaba Highway Motel, along the Ghaba/Salalah highway and the new Safeer International Hotel - other projects under way include the RO 3 million Khaleej Tower Hotel, Al Khuwair, the RO 20 million First Condominium Hotel, Suites and Mall and the RO 15 million unique Dhofar based Salalah Safeer Beach Village.
This latest addition to STHC, the Safeer International Hotel, boasts a total of 85 well designed rooms and suites that includes all modern fixtures and fittings, a coffee shop and fine multi-cuisine restaurant, multi-purpose hall, a pool area that can accommodate up to 150 people, recreation facilities - inclusive of swimming pool, health club and children's play area, as well as other standard four-star facilities and services, such as wireless Internet access facilities - WIFI.
With an ideal central location, within the capital area (being just 15 minutes away from Seeb International Airport and a few minutes drive to government and commercial establishments), the new hotel is in a perfect position to cater for the business visitor and tourist alike.
Safeer International Hotel incorporates a fusion concept in luxury hotels, combining spacious rooms and luxury suites in a relaxingly suave atmosphere.
It has one and two-bedroom junior suites, one and two bedroom executive suites, one and two bedroom junior penthouse suites and 1 bedroom penthouse suite. The hotel's 'grand opening' is scheduled to take place at the end of this year.
