He further said, "The bank also plans to explore new horizons in the field of CSR creating inspirational and positive changes to local communities as well as strengthening its existing relations with all sectors, from government to private and non-government organisations.
Being a socially conscious bank and looking for ways to give back to our community is part of the ahlibank's philosophy and something we feel passionate about. Launching the 'ahlibank cares' initiative is just the start of the many plans we have in order to make a difference."

"CSR is at the core of our policies and we solicit the support of every individual as we believe an individual can mnake a big difference," noted Bikram S. Monga, deputy general manger and head of Risk Management, ahlibank.
Outlining the details of the campaign, Murtadha Al Lawati, head of Corporate Communications at ahlibank, said, "at ahlibank we realise that we as an organisation are only as good as the society we belong to, we wanted our CSR for 2012 to be a reflection of our commitment towards this beautiful nation and its people and that is where the idea of the calendar stems from.
The calendar is a road map that will be used to kick start campaigns that work towards creating awareness about the most important issues affecting the society and we thought the best way of having a constant reminder would be a calendar sitting on your desk showcasing these issues in a direct yet imaginative way all year long."
"January will dedicate to 'Think and Drive' campaign which is aimed at promoting road safety and to bring down the surging number of road accident victims across the Sultanate.
In February, spreading awareness about breast cancer would be the key. 'Conserve water' will be the highlight for March.
"In April, we would organise activities relating to the theme, 'exercise regularly to keep yourself fit.' And in May we would go all over to inform people and youngsters about the harmful effects of smoking," he added.
Murtadha Al Lawati added, "Campaign to arrest global warming would be the theme for June. And as far as July is concerned, it would be 'save energy' month."
Campaign to fight drug would be in September, while October would focus on activities that will help fight polio. In November, ahlibank care initiatives would focus on people with special needs."
He further added, "December is for blood donation campaign as blood is a vital fluid for the living as well as those struggling for life after an emergency and there is a chronic need for blood and a frantic search for the suitable blood group to save a life."
Ghaya Al Barwani, head of marketing, ahlibank, said, "The campaign would begin from the second week of January. The exact details of each campaign would be known well in advance through the media."
