Haya Water has put its mobile exhibition unit back on the road this month as it continues its campaign to educate the public about its water reuse project that is under construction, a press release said. The mobile unit, which was unveiled at the Muscat Festival in January, has visited colleges, shopping centres and other public areas, it said.

Haya Water's reuse project will be the biggest infrastructure development of its kind and also one of the largest construction and development projects ever undertaken in Oman, the release said.

A team of Haya Water professionals at the mobile exhibition mobile demonstrate the impact of the project in enhancing quality of life for people. 'Haya water has been committed since the beginning to ensure that it incorporates the most advanced sewage treatment technology into its project that will help make Muscat a better city.

'The company is reaching out to the public through its mobile unit to tell how the project is being implemented, the technology that is being used, the benefits it will bring to families and the community, how the reused water is regenerating the Al Ansab Wetlands project and how solid waste is being converted into compost at the Kala Composting Plant,' the release stated.

The unit has visited Mabella, Al Khoud, Bausher, Azaiba and Qurm. Sulayem al Hakmani, acting general manager, commercial department at Haya said, "We were delighted with the positive feedback Haya Water had received when we took the unit out on the road."

Treated effluent from the water reuse project is used for greening parks, public areas, golf courses and roadside landscaping. Connecting Muscat residences to the new system will do away with septic tanks and the hassle of calling in trucks to remove sewage from homes and businesses, the release added.
