MUSCAT -- The Salalah Tourism Festival (July 15- August 31) has evoked immense response with many Salalah-bound tourists using the opportunity to also visit Muscat and Nizwa, which is a boon for local hotels, lodges and eateries. The Salalah-bound Gulf tourists often arrange a stopover package to other exciting tourist spots in Muscat and Nizwa through a travel agent. Everything in these places is worth visiting and enjoying, say visitors.
Like each year, thousands of holidaymakers are heading for Salalah everyday to experience Salalah Tourism Festival (STF-2010) and the very pleasant cool weather prevailing there. Similarly, many of them are also exploring opportunities for holiday stopovers in Muscat, Nizwa and Al Hamra. Whether one visits Salalah, Muscat or Nizwa, the feeling invariably is that Oman -- being a country with a history, a culture and a ruggedly beautiful landscape -- stands out as a unique tourist destination in the region.
A visit to Oman is incomplete without visiting the Wilayat of Muscat, a most exciting city that runs along the Sea of Oman across a long mountain range. Muscat is distinguished by the presence of citadels, forts, towers, walls, gates and historical houses.
