Abu Dhabi, Mar 14th, 2013 (WAM)--The Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA) have launched their 2013 Bihar Mall Stand at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, following this week's launch of the Bihar 2013 maritime safety awareness campaign.

CICPA's General Manager, General Abdullah Saeed Mubarak Al Shamsi cut the ribbon to officially open the stand, which marks the start of CICPA?s efforts to engage with the general public and promote safety, security and protection in the UAE?s maritime areas. The mall stand will be up and running for the next three days. Also in attendance was Bihar 2013's Good Will Ambassador Ali Belhebala, the Formula One Power Boat champion.

The 2013 Bihar Mall Stand is a highly visible and interactive stand that encourages people of all ages to engage with issues related to the UAE's maritime environment in a fun and relaxing environment for residents and visitors alike.

CICPA's representatives will be present at the stand throughout the weekend to interact with people and encourage them to participate in the 2013 Bihar Mall Stand activities. Colonel Salem Al Kindi, Head of the Bihar Committee said, "Our goal this year is to engage with as many people as possible across the UAE through inviting people to participate in discussions and create an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions about maritime issues. These mall stands have proven to be very effective in achieving that." Bihar 2013's next mall stand will be in Al Gharbiya Mall between 21st ? 23rd March, afterwards the campaign will visit Sahara Mall in Sharjah and Dubai Mall. In addition to mall activations, Bihar 2013 will be involved in a number of beach activities at Dubai's JBR, the Abu Dhabi Jet Ski Championship, and the X-Cat Powerboats race in Fujairah.
