BASRA: A new transformer station was opened in al-Quran suburb, northern Basra province, at a total cost of around $1.75 million.
BASRA: A new transformer station was opened in al-Quran suburb, northern Basra province, at a total cost of around $1.75 million.
"The project was conducted in al-Thaghar district of al-Qurna, 110 km north of Basra," Engineer Hilmmy Aneess, the head of Basra's reconstruction unit, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The station's capacity is 33/11 KV," he said.
"The project was executed by a local company within six months," he added.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
