RIYADH - The "Saudi 2013 Infocomm Seminar and Exhibition" concluded Wednesday, revealing the launch of a unique sticky SIM card that can accommodate 10 lines in one smart phone set.
"We have introduced this state-of-art innovation, named Mawj SIM Card, to Saudi Market at this time that innovation is increasingly becoming vital to fuel Kingdom's future progression especially that the usage of mobile technology is gaining momentum and mobile penetration is deepening," said Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Meheihi, the co-chairman of Saudi- Singaporean Business Council at the Council of Saudi Chambers and Chairman of Mawj Telecom who opened the event Monday.
Wee Ah Kee, the CEO of Mawj highlighted the major feature of the card, said that the Mawj card is a unique and patented solution, ultra-slim SIM that takes on a dominant role and controls the other card beneath it. "It's basically 2 smart cards working in 1 SIM slot without changing handsets."
"It supports all standard phones & SIMs with no modification required; just stick and use with the convenient of maintaining your current Telco SIM and current phone number. Both SIMs shares independent security domains and service domains with multiple numbers or profiles in a single Mawj SMART SIM card,"
Kee also pointed out that Mawj card provides users with global roaming capabilities through their international gateways that make the phone "local" to save on roaming charges. It has a built in Automatic Smart Dialer Function, easy to dial or call function, without the complicated dialing patterns.
"Further its unique product capabilities also allows usage in Mobile Banking and payment function, NFC, B2B, B2C communication tools etc."
Also a new company specialized in handling the Big Data was launched in the event under the name Mawj Consulting. Al Meleihi, who is also the chairman of this new company, said:" I am confident that the innovative technology and services provided by the new company will propel Saudi ICT sector to be the leader within MENA region and endless contribution to the social economic within the Kingdom."
"We specialized in real-time analytic of Big Data, Advance Social Network Intelligence Profiling Solution and Big data Cyber Security Solution for your operation. We also specialized in telecomm and mobile vertical backed by experience consulting team that architected and developed this proprietary Big Data Technology," he added.
He pointed out that the founding of the new firm came to response to an evident need to handle the data volumes that growing exponentially due to the explosion of Social Networks and mobile devices generated data record, web-log files and sensor data.
Also, the rise of digitization, enterprises from various verticals have amassed burgeoning amounts of digital data, capturing trillions of bytes of information about their customers, suppliers and operations. All that have given momentum to the rise of Big Data Phenomenon and technology for which Mawj consulting launched today, he said.
