General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, visited the Dubai Ladies Club at Jumeirah Beach on Sunday.
He was welcomed by Ayisha Baluha, executive director, and a number of other members of the club, which is presided over by Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of General Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mohammed toured the various sections of the club, including the sport and recreation facilities.
He also inspected the newly expanded facilities and the modern equipment obtained by the club.
Following his tour, Sheikh Mohammed expressed confidence that Sheikha Manal and her colleagues will work as one team and best employ their efforts and thoughts to further improve performance of the club, and offer opportunities for members to serve the women of the country and the community in a democratic and friendly atmosphere.
Sheikha Manal expressed her appreciation for the visit paid by Sheikh Mohammed following the modernisation of the various sections of the club.
She said the visit represents moral support for the club together with the material support bestowed by him.
She also said that the directives of Sheikh Mohammed inspire the clubs administration to draw up sound plans and programmes so that the club can effectively convey its social and cultural messages, and enhance the talents and experiences of its members for the benefit of all UAE woman and those of the future generations.
