BAMAKO (TAP) - Caretaker president Moncef Marzouki had talks on Wednesday evening in Bamako with his counterparts of Niger and DR Congo, Mahamadou Issoufou and Denis Sassou-Nguesso respectively.

The talks turned on the development of relations of cooperation between Tunisia and these two countries, particularly in health and services sectors.

President Marzouki highlighted the importance of the success of democratic transition in Mali, stressing the need to help it take up its challenges in matters of security which, he said, now threatens all the Sahel and Sahara countries.

For their parts, the presidents of Niger and DR Congo stressed the need for the region's countries to work out a common strategy to fight against arms trafficking and armed terrorist organisations.

Marzouki is currently on a visit to Mali to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Ibrahim boubacar Keita.
