Over 254.9 million tons of goods, valued at more than 1,377 billion rials, were exported from this central province to 23 countries in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2007), a provincial official said on Saturday.
Head of Markazi Customs Department Mehdi Mir-Ashrafi told IRNA the goods were exported to Asian, African and European countries and the Persian Gulf littoral states.
He said that tile and ceramics, bitumen, oil, heavy polyethylene, Aluminum sheet, carpet, dried fruits and different types of glue, and wagons spare parts were the main goods exported.
Mir-Ashrafi stated that the exports showed 30 and 27 percent boost in terms of value and weight respectively compared to that of the previous year.
He further noted that over seven million kilos of goods, worth rls 186.524 billion, were imported to the province from 21 countries during the same period.
The official said total income of Markazi province stood at rls 38.075 billion.
