Abu Dhabi, Nov 11th, 2012 (WAM) - Under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a ceremony was held on Saturday to honour the partners of the Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan World Festival for purebred Arabian horses.
During the ceremony held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the festival authorities honoured HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and of the Family Development Foundation for her role in developing women's equestrian sports in the UAE. On behalf of the 'Mother of Emirates' Sheikha Fatima, Director General of the GWU, Nora Al Suwaidi received a hand-painted portrait of a horse at the ceremony. Shields were also presented to Sheikha Hessa Bint Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikha Alyazia Bint Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikha Fatima Bint Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikha Hayat Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Sheikha Munira Al Thani of Qatar.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
